The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association released their ground rules for the National Finals of Breakaway Roping Oct. 28, laying out how they’ll pay out the $200,000 in added money in Arlington’s Globe Life Field this December.

Each contestant will receive a $1,000 stipend for qualifying. Additionally, each of the 10 go rounds will pay $14,230.77, broken down like this across six places:

NFBR Go-Round Payout:

1. $4,411.54

2. $3,486.54

3. $2,632.694.

$1,850.00

5. $1,138.46

6. $711.54

The average will not pay out, but will be used to determine the top eight qualifiers to the Semifinals, where eight more checks will be paid out Dec. 10.

The bottom four ropers in the Round of 8 will receive the fifth through eighth place checks, while the top four will advance to the Finals to see who receives the first through fourth place checks.

Here’s how the NFBR Semifinals and Finals will pay:

NFBR Semifinals/Finals Payout:

1. $11,313.46

2. $9,178.85

3. $7,257.69

4. $5,336.54

5. $3,842.31

6. $2,775.00

7. $1,921.15

8. $1,067.31

To be exceptionally clear, this is one set of checks, the bottom half of which will be paid out in the Round of 8, with the top half paying out in the Round of 4.

The WPRA will crown its ProRodeo world title based on cumulative money won on the year, with NFBR money added to the year’s standings. While the PRCA is awarding points for the Finals that reflect the NFR payout if it had been held in Vegas and not actual money, the WPRA will award the gold buckle based on cumulative actual dollars.
