Utah breakaway sensation Anna Bahe, who enters the National Finals of Breakaway Roping 11th with $10,529 won, will ride AQHA World Champion Jr. Tie-Down Mamas Duel N At Boon to kick off the National Finals of Breakaway Roping Dec. 8.

“I was trying to find a horse, and I was struggling,” Bahe, 23, said. “But I talked to my friend James Barton—who trained a few of Tuf Cooper’s calf horses—so I flew here last week. He had some lined up for me, and would let me choose which one I’d feel the most comfortable with.”

After sorting through the herd, Bahe settled on the gray, 2017 AQHA World Champion Junior Tie-Down Roping stallion Boon. The horse is also coming off a fifth place at the 2020 AQHA World Show in the Senior Tie-Down and has 66 AQHA Performance Points and his Open Register of Merit, according to AQHA’s QData. The horse is owned by X Bar 2 Farms & Rodeo LLC.

“He’s a stud, so he’s powerful,” Bahe said. “It took me a bit to get used to him. He’s a winner. And James is such a great coach; he’s helping me so much.” BRJ
