It’s College National Finals Rodeo Time! Here’s What You Need to Know

The best collegiate rodeo athletes in the country head to Casper, Wyoming, June 12-18 when the Ford Wyoming Center hosts the CNFR.

WHO: 

400 of the nation’s top college rodeo athletes representing more than 100 institutions of higher learning from 11 regions will compete in nine rodeo events at the College National Finals Rodeo.

WHAT: 

National championships for individuals and teams will be determined this week.

WHERE: 

Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming

WHEN: 

June 12-18, 2022

CNFR EVENTS: 

Men compete in saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and team roping. Women compete in barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying and team roping.

CNFR FORMAT: 

Each individual competes in three rounds with the top 12 returning for the final championship round. That’s where the individual event champions, men’s and women’s all-around champions and national championship teams are crowned. While scores and times are very important, the all-around and team titles are based on a point system.

The College National Finals Rodeo 2022 can be streamed live via ESPN3.

CNFR Competition Schedule:

Sunday, June 12: 1 p.m. & 4 p.m. “Bulls, Broncs & Breakaway”

Monday, June 13: 7 a.m. slack

Tuesday, June 14: 7 a.m. slack & 7 p.m. 1st Performance

Wednesday, June 15: 7 p.m. 2nd Performance

Thursday, June 16: 7 p.m. 3rd Performance, Ribbon Night at the Rodeo for Cancer Awareness

Friday, June 17: 7 p.m. 4th Performance, Military Night

Saturday, June 18: 7 p.m. Championship Round

Scholarships will be awarded from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association foundation and the NIRA Alumni. Special scholarships and awards will also be presented. Other activities of interest include a daily tradeshow, cowboy church, mounted shooting and more.
