The Patriot breakaway roping kicks off on Tuesday, March 4, 2024 at the Will Rogers, and there’s a ton of changes going into the new-and-improved event.

Under new management, the event provides a convenient opportunity for young breakaway ropers to gain experience on a larger stage.

Monday, Mar. 4

15 & Under Breakaway Jackpot

  • 2 full rounds and short round
  • *limited to 150 entries*
  • Entry fee: $250

Semifinals last chance qualifier sidepot

  • Entry fee: $100
  • 10 spots from last chance sidepot advance to semifinals

19 & Under Breakaway Jackpot

  • 2 full rounds and short round
  • *limited to 250 entries*

One long round with top 50 advancing to the second round, 15 fastest on two round average advances to the Jr. Patriot Finals.

Friday, Mar. 8

12 & Under Semifinals

One long round with top 30 advancing to the second round, 10 fastest on two round average advances to the Jr. Patriot Finals.

Saturday, Mar. 9

Open Breakaway, $2,500 added, Rope for the Crown Qualifier

  • 2 full rounds and short round
  • *limited to 100 entries*
  • Entry fee: $400

Sunday, Mar. 10

Jr. Patriot Short Go

Contestants can only advance one qualified run from Semi-Finals to the Jr. Patriot Finals.

  • 19 & under breakaway run order will be 15-1 from average times on the two rounds.
  • 15 & under breakaway run order will be 10-1 from average times on the two rounds.
  • 12 & under breakaway run order will be 10-1 from average times on the two rounds.

How to enter

Enter on the Patriot’s website here.

The original entry deadline has passed, but competitors can enter online until March 2, 2024 with a $20 late fee. Onsite entries will have a $50 late fee.

Frequently asked questions

What personal transportation can be brought?

Golf carts can be brought and registered with a $250 permit fee.

Cricket carts do not need a permit.

Do not bring ATVs, side-by-sides, segways, scooters and one wheels.

Are there any hookups available?

No, hookups are sold out.

What are the host hotels?

Find the host hotels here.

Is there dry camping available?

Yes, in the Rockwood lot approximately two miles from the Will Rogers complex.

Where is the day parking?

Farrington field and lots surrounding the Will Rogers complex.

Are there stalls available?

As of Feb. 21, 2024, there are 300 stalls available. At midnight on Feb. 21 the stalls will become available onsite only.
