Beau Peterson and Bout Miller Time roped three head in 9.21 seconds, putting them 0.3 seconds ahead of Peterson’s No. 2 and 3 finishes. Together, they won $8,000.
“Miller Time is by Hashtags so we were excited to get him from Justin Maass in January,” Peterson said. “We noticed quickly how fast he could run and break to the pin so getting him to relax in the box has always been our main focal point. We are excited for the owner Lanette Johnson on ‘Jag’s’ win.”

Cheyanne McCartney and Countin Junes Checks (owned by Mia Davis) took a go-round win and the average victory at the 2024 RFA Waco breakaway futurity, rounding up a total of $11,000.
“He’s a 7-year-old gelding that’s as solid as they come,” said McCartney, who rode the gelding at the 2024 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. “I rode him two years ago at the Windy Ryon, and the Davis family bought him shortly after that. Molly has done a great job seasoning him, and I’ve very thankful they have allowed me to show him at two futurities and ride him at some rodeos. He does everything you need a breakaway horse to do. He’s stands in the box as long as you ask him to, leaves off your hand flat footed, runs hard, rates, and breaks the string off fast.”
