Aspen Miller won more money than any cowgirl in breakaway roping over the past week, banking $16,869 across three rodeos to climb from No. 17 to a projected No. 12 in the WPRA Pro Rodeo Breakaway World Standings.
The Santa Fe, Texas, cowgirl cashed in three separate times at Hermiston, Oregon—$1,264 for a share of fifth in the first round, $3,172 for winning the short round with a 2.0, and $6,424 for taking the average at 7.1 seconds on three head. She won Omak, Washington, outright with another 2.0 for $4,940 and tied for ninth at Baker, Montana, for $1,069 on top of it.
Here is how the week’s five biggest earners cashed in.
Weekly Money Leaders
1. Aspen Miller—$16,869
Miller’s $6,424 average check at Hermiston was the largest single check anyone cashed anywhere last week. Add the short-round win, the first-round share and the $4,940 she won at Omak, and she won more in five days than she had won in the previous four weeks combined. She moves past Sawyer Gilbert, Jenna Dallyn, Beau Peterson, Maddy Jacobs and Jill Tanner this week.

2. Suzanne Williams—$14,159
Williams won the first round in Hermiston with a 2.0-second run for $4,283, placed second in the short round for $2,379 and was second in the average at 7.9 seconds on three head for $5,506; a total of $12,168 out of Hermiston alone. She tied for third at Jerome, Idaho, for $1,991 more. The Standish, California, cowgirl moves from No. 12 to a projected No. 10.
3. Danielle Lowman—$9,462
Lowman was third in the Hermiston average at 8.0 on three head for $4,589, tied for third in the first round for $2,855 and was third in the short round for $1,586. The Gilbert, Arizona, cowgirl added $432 for a share of 13th at Omak and moved up a spot to a projected No. 8.
4. Hali Williams—$8,161
Williams took the only real bite out of McCartney’s lead again. The Comanche, Texas, cowgirl was second at Omak with a 2.1 for $3,952, won a share of the Hermiston second round for $1,903 and tied for seventh in that average for $1,530, and picked up $776 at Billings, Montana. She stays No. 2 and is now $13,446.79 clear of Rylee George.
5. Rylee A George—$7,736
George tied Georgia Orahood to win Billings with a 2.0 for $4,653 and was second at Jerome with a 2.2 for $3,083. The Stephenville, Texas, cowgirl holds No. 3 on 51 rodeos.

The top seven did not move a spot. Below that, Hermiston rearranged everything: Suzanne Williams, Danielle Lowman and Aspen Miller all climbed on money won in Oregon, and the three cowgirls who blanked. Sawyer Gilbert’s three-spot fall from No. 10 to a projected No. 13 is the biggest drop in the top 20, and it happened without her losing a dollar.
The rodeo-count column is worth a look. Jill Tanner is a projected No. 18 on 27 rodeos, roughly half what everyone around her has entered, and Jackie Crawford sits just outside at a projected No. 22 on 37. Cadee Williams is No. 5 on 39.
The Bubble
Beau Peterson holds the No. 15 hole at a projected $75,038.17 after adding $458 for a share of 13th at Baker. The cowgirl she pushed out is Maddy Jacobs, who won $1,729 at Omak and still slid to a projected No. 16, $2,668.17 back—Aspen Miller’s $16,869 simply went past both of them.
Behind that, Bradi Good is the one closing. She won $4,404 between Baker and Omak to move up to a projected No. 17 at $69,329.91, and she is now $5,708.26 out of the 15 hole instead of $9,000-plus. Jill Tanner at No. 18 blanked and is $9,318.46 back. Shelby Boisjoli-Meged’s $7,304 week is the biggest gain of anyone outside the projected top 15, moving her from No. 22 to a projected No. 19.
The Rest of the Week
Hermiston made a lot of seasons. Sarah Morrissey tied Shelby Boisjoli-Meged to win the second round for $3,977—more than she had won all year coming in. Rookie Rio Schmidt was second in the first round for $3,671, which is roughly six times the $604.23 she had banked in 15 rodeos before last week. Kiley McMillan tied for third in that round for $2,855 and more than doubled her season. Kadin Jodie cashed in all three rounds and the average for $6,673 without ever winning a go.
At Billings, Georgia Orahood tied Rylee George for the win and picked up $4,653—more than doubling the $3,987.01 she had won across 25 rodeos. Kennedy Buckner had the busiest week of anyone, cashing at four different rodeos for $6,289, including the Jerome win. In the Midwest, Wraylee Brown won Marshall, Minnesota, and was fourth at Clearwater, Minnesota, for $3,411, and Katie Jolly won Douglas, Wyoming, and placed at Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for $2,774.
The fastest run reported anywhere last week belonged to a circuit cowgirl. Kaeley Hutchison was 1.8 to win Baker for $6,110—the ninth-biggest check anybody cashed all week, out of one rodeo.
All in, breakaway roping paid out $275,543 across 20 rodeos from Aug. 10 through Aug. 16. Hermiston accounted for $79,306 of it—more than a quarter of the week, out of one rodeo.
