All eyes were on Jackie Crawford and Josie Conner as they crisscrossed the nation this weekend, but on Sunday afternoon, Danielle Lowman showed out in Stephenville, Texas, with a 1.8-second run that earned her $3,053 and put her directly on Josie Conner’s heels.

After the weekend, Jackie Crawford announced on social media that she was officially wrapping up her 2022 season, so all eyes turned to Cumberland, Maine, where Josie Conner took her faithful gelding, Tonka to put a wrap and a bow on her NFBR qualification.

Conner won the first Cumberland County Fair Rodeo on Sept. 28, 2023, with a 2.3-second run, worth $579.

Conner’s $1,176 lead over Danielle Lowman after her first Maine left the race tight. Based on the entries as of September 29, Lowman could win a maximum of $1,180 at Fort Worth on September 30, the final rodeo of the season.

We are waiting on the official payouts from Maine, but we are certain the win paid over $4, so Conner can take a sigh of relief run—where she drew checks at eight of the 10 final rodeos of her season.

By the way, Josie Conner is also the 2022 Resistol Rookie of the Year.
