Hali Williams won more money than any cowgirl in breakaway roping over the past week, banking $12,125 across two rodeos to cut Cheyanne McCartney’s WPRA Pro Rodeo Breakaway World Standings lead from $40,621 to a projected $29,545.
The Comanche, Texas, cowgirl was 1.7 to win Logan, Utah, for $7,012, then won the second round in Lovington, New Mexico, with a 1.9 and placed fourth in that average for $5,113 more. McCartney roped for a check once all week—a 2.9 for seventh at Lawton, Oklahoma, worth $1,049.
Nobody moved in the projected top nine. Williams stays No. 2, George stays No. 3, and McCartney’s lead is still the largest in the standings. But it is $11,076 smaller than it was Monday.
Here is how the week’s five biggest earners cashed in.
1. Hali Williams—$12,125
Williams won Logan outright with a 1.7 for $7,012, the third-fastest run anywhere in the country this week. She added $5,113 at Lovington, winning the second round with a 1.9 for $2,651 and placing fourth in the average at 5.4 seconds on two head for $2,462.
2. Rylee A George—$8,565
George cashed at three rodeos in three states. At Lovington she tied Sawyer Gilbert to win the first round with a 2.4 for $2,462, then tied Danielle Lowman and Taylor Munsell to win the average at 5.2 on two head for $3,408—$5,870 out of Lovington alone. She tied for fourth at Lawton with a 2.8 for $1,679 and tied for sixth at Missoula, Montana, with a 2.3 for $1,016.
3. Molly Salmond—$8,294
Salmond turned in the fastest run anywhere this week, a 1.5 to win Bozeman, Montana, for $5,104, then won Cascade, Montana, two days later with a 2.5 for $2,773 and tied for 10th at Chinook, Montana, with a 3.1 for $417. Three Montana rodeos, three checks. The Choteau, Montana, cowgirl came into the week with $4,686.62 on the season across 14 rodeos—she nearly tripled it in five days.
4. Rickie Engesser—$6,855
Engesser was third at Logan with a 1.9 for $4,558 and tied for fourth at Bozeman with another 1.9 for $2,297. The Spearfish, South Dakota, cowgirl’s week moves her from No. 31 to a projected No. 27, the biggest climb inside the top 30.
5. Danielle Lowman—$6,721
Lowman built $5,764 at Lovington the hard way: a tie for 10th in the first round with a 2.9 for $84, second in the second round with a 2.3 for $2,272, and a share of the average win at 5.2 on two head for $3,408. The Gilbert, Arizona, cowgirl added $957 at Bozeman with a 2.1.

The Rest of the Week
Circuit cowgirls held their own. Douglas, Kansas’ Taylor Raupe was 2.4 to win Lawton for $4,197 and Shoshoni, Wyoming’s Coralee Andersen won twice in four days, taking Rawlins, Wyoming, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for $3,078 on the week. The Prairie and Mountain States circuits paid well.
Kennedy Buckner had a big week, winning Chinook and Grace, Idaho, for $5,029 and climbing from No. 49 to a projected No. 44. North of the border, Addison Kinser won La Crete, Alberta, with a 2.1 for $2,080.93, and Longview, Alberta’s Bradi Whiteside picked up $859.51 for a share of fifth.
All in, breakaway roping paid out $297,748 across 28 rodeos from Aug. 3 through Aug. 9.

The top nine did not move a single spot. Every cowgirl in the top nine except Jordi Edens-Mitchell cashed somewhere, and the money landed evenly enough that the order held.
The gaps tell a different story than the ranks. McCartney’s lead over Williams shrinks from $40,622 to $29,545, the first meaningful dent anyone has put in it since Calgary. Below that, the top four pull away: Williams is now $13,021 clear of George, up from $9,461, and George is $10,255 clear of Munsell, up from $7,243.
Logan did the heavy lifting, paying nine cowgirls who are inside the projected top 25, including four in the top 15, and Hali Williams’ $7,012 there was the largest single check anyone cashed all week.
The Top 15 Cutline
Maddy Jacobs holds the No. 15 hole at a projected $70,640.73, adding $1,709 for a tie for sixth at Logan. Suzanne Williams’ $5,610 second-place run there is the biggest climb inside the top 15, moving her from No. 14 to a projected No. 12 past both Jenna Dallyn and Beau Peterson.
Behind the cutline, nobody gained. Jill Tanner at No. 16 won $262 at Lawton and sits $4,921.33 back. Aspen Miller at No. 17 won $442 at Lovington and is $5,442.16 out. Bradi Good at No. 18 is $6,574.67 out on a $433 week, and Jaci Hammons at No. 21 blanked for a second straight week and is now $11,552.51 from the 15 hole.
