Danielle Lowman went 7.2 seconds on three head to win the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, placing in all three rounds to secure a Texas Swing victory that moved her into the top 15 in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association standings.
The first round, held as a slack at the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena, set the tone. Ninth out, Lowman took advantage of her draw.
“I figured being ninth out, you hope to get a good start on the barrier and then just let it all hang out from there,” Lowman said.
In the second round, that meant adjusting mid-run when her calf stepped left, trusting her practice and following through.
“I think everything in that moment is just instinct,” Lowman said.
The Finals forced a different kind of decision.
In the CRC Roofers Coliseum, with a big crowd and a calf that wouldn’t stand in the chute and her horse getting tight, Lowman didn’t hit the start like she planned. She adjusted mid-run to make sure she got him roped.
“I was like ‘Ah, you’re not on the line, just go out and win second’,” Lowman said.
And that worked out in her favor.
Behind the win was a winter spent rebuilding—both in horsepower and mindset. Lowman finished the rodeo on her 2019 gelding Tungsten Rebel, known as “Gucci,” a horse she brought back into her program after putting in time to build confidence at home following a challenging 2025 season.
That work showed up in San Angelo, but so did a shift in perspective.
“I was pretty hard on myself last year, so I’m trying to be a little lighter on myself this year,” she said. “I’m just giving myself more grace.
After missing Fort Worth and Rodeo Austin, Lowman knew San Angelo needed to count—but instead of pressing, she trusted herself and the team behind her.
“I am thankful for my team and everyone who helps me get where I need to be,” Lowman said. “I could never do this alone.”
