Rope Like a Girl, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and youth in the Western industry, has established the Oaklynn Rae Domer Fund in memory of the 3-year-old daughter of WPRA World Champion Kelsie-Chace Domer and her husband, Ryan.

DONATE: Oaklynn Rae Domer Fund

Following Oaklynn’s untimely passing, an outpouring of support from across the Western industry and beyond led to the creation of a lasting fund in her name. Through the generosity of individuals, companies and community members, the fund will provide opportunities for young athletes for years to come.

Thousands of individuals and groups donated to the cause, as well as a grassroots effort led by Jordon Jo Hollabaugh, whose Cowgirl Armor hat sales generated tens of thousands of dollars in support of the fund. More than 6,200 hats were sold, alongside direct donations, helping Rope Like a Girl raise substantial funding to ensure a meaningful, long-term impact. Hooey Brands also announced it would donate all proceeds from its March 2026 sale of Rope Like A Girl apparel to the fund, and Smarty sold out of a limited edition line of pink roping sleds to support the cause.

“We have had Rope Like a Girl as a nonprofit for the last few years wanting to make a difference in people’s lives, and this tragedy has kicked us into high gear,” said Lari Dee Guy. “We absolutely hate everything about this, but we’re going to work with the Domer family to make the biggest impact possible with this baby’s life.”

The Oaklynn Rae Domer Fund awarded its first two scholarships on March 8 in Oklahoma during a Rope Like a Girl event. Laynee Roberts and Jenson Minor were the first recipients of the first Oaklynn Rae Domer Scholarships awarded March 8 at the Forever 7 Rodeo in Cherokee, Oklahoma.

Oaklynn’s legacy is rooted in the light she brought to those around her—a spirit her family and the rodeo community are committed to carrying forward.

“Oaklynn was a light in every sense of the word,” said her mom, Kelsie. “She showed us how to love fully, purely and without hesitation. For the rest of my life, I will do everything I can to honor her by living the way she did—by loving like Oaklynn. This fund is just the beginning.”

Built on the message to “be a light,” the fund reflects the impact Oaklynn had in her short life and the mission to extend that impact to others. Through continued support, Rope Like a Girl aims to create opportunities that reflect her spirit and ensure her legacy lives on through the next generation.
