The San Diego Rodeo is well under way in Petco Park Jan. 16-18. The rodeo will witness 12 of the top breakaway ropers in the world going at it for a chance at a big-time payout.
Late Sunday afternoon, Comanche, Texas, cowgirl Hali Williams was crowned the 2026 San Diego Rodeo Champion, with her 1.81-second run sealing the deal for a $20,000 payday.

What is the format for the San Diego Rodeo?
There will be three performances at the San Diego Rodeo. Rounds 1 and 2 will take place the first two performances (Jan. 16-17) with 12 teams competing. The final performance, Jan. 18, will be the Finals, comprised of eight of the highest money earners from the first two rounds, followed immediately by the clean-slate Shoot Out round of four.
