Taylor Munsell’s Big Week Pushed Her Higher: Top 15 Update

Between California Rodeo Salinas and the Pikes Peak or Bust NFR Open, checks written since July 17 have six cowgirls already swapping places inside the projected top 20.

Taylor Munsell’s week was the single highest paying week in breakaway, with $14,875 won in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and $1,712 won at Salinas, California, totaling $16,587—that was enough to push her past Jordi Edens-Mitchell for the projected No. 5 spot.

Other movers include Haiden Thompson’s run through Steamboat Springs and Colorado Springs which bumped her two spots to No. 8, and Suzanne Williams and Jenna Dallyn both climbed on the strength of NFR Open go-round checks.

At the top, Cheyanne McCartney’s lead only grew. Her Round 2 win at Salinas tacked another $3,996.00 onto a world lead that was already more than $16,000 clear of Hali Williams, and nothing that’s paid out last week touches that gap.

Josie Conner’s Salinas average win was worth $6,869.00 across both go-rounds and the short round. It wasn’t enough to catch Munsell or Edens-Mitchell, but it keeps her within striking distance at No. 7.

Further down, Suzanne Williams and Jenna Dallyn both benefited from paydays at Colorado Springs. A third-place go-round check was enough on its own to move Suzanne Williams past Jaci Hammons for No. 12, while Dallyn’s go-round money plus a finals check push her past both Bradi Good and Jill Tanner to No. 14.

One to watch just outside the top 20: Tiffany Schieck climbed 15 spots this week—from a projected No. 38 to No. 23. She’s now just $5,439.69 out of the top 20.
