The American Semifinals Cheat Sheet: Breakaway Roping Performance 1

The first performance of The American Semifinals kicks off on March 1 at 7:00 p.m. cst and will take place at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Find out the information on the ropers and horses who will be competing.

The first performance of The American Semifinals kicks off on March 1 at 7:00 p.m. cst and will take place at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Find out the information on the ropers and horses who will be competing. 

The field has been narrowed down to just 34 breakaway ropers and horses. Of those 34, 30 competitors qualified by placing in the top 30 in the slack competition on Friday, February 25, and 4 qualified through a last-chance Buyback round on Saturday, February 26.  

Here what you need to know about who will be competing for a coveted spot in the contender round this Friday, March 4 in the first performance. The listed qualifying times are based on a two-head aggregate.

#1. Kat-Lyn Hooper 

Qualifying Time: 3.91 

Horse: Razma Rooster, a 2006 gelding by Roosters Diamonds and out of Miss Razma Cash. 

#2. Kennidy Nicholson 

Qualifying Time: 5.11 

Horse: CJ Sugar Freckle, a 2005 gelding by CJ Charles and out of Freckles Miss Sonita. 

#3. Ricki Konze 

Qualifying Time: 5.07 

Horse: MP Pay It Forward, a 2006 gelding by PC Frenchmans Hayday and out of Doc Snapdragon.  

#4, #5. Kaydence Crawford  

Qualifying Times: 4.12, 5.17 

Horse: Scootin On An Acre, a 2008 gelding by Smart Lil Scoot and out of AMA Acre. 

#6. Aspen Miller  

Qualifying Time: 4.95 

Horse: Twisted Barbarella, a 2011 mare by Freckles Fancy Twist and out of Play Like A Cat. 

#7. Morgan Sparks 

Qualifying Time: 4.87 

Horse: El Chapo, a 2015 grade gelding.

Qualifying Time: 5.60 

Horse: Miss Smooth Shot, a 2010 mare by EMS Gentlemen and out of IMA Smooth Shot.

Qualifying Time: 5.41

Qualifying Time: 5.24 

Horse: Reya, a 2010 grade mare out of Sheza Hootin Cowgirl and out of Boogers Rodeo Red.

Qualifying Time: 5.25 

Horse: Sassie Hancock, a 2006 mare by Sand Rock Hancock and out of Cheryl Sweet.
