It was a Western weekend of ProRodeo breakaway hosted on the patriotic backdrop of Memorial Day May 24–27, 2024.

From a tornado disrupting the Will Rogers Stampede in Oklahoma to Joey Williams decisively winning more than $6,000 at Back When They Bucked in Deadwood, South Dakota, and No. 2 Danielle Lowman picking up $2,006 in Grand Junction, Colorado, to inch closer to No. 1 Jackie Crawford, it was a notable weekend or ProRodeo breakaway results.

Back When They Bucked

Deadwood, SD, May 26

Joey Williams won the Back When They Bucked rodeo in Deadwood, South Dakota, thanks to the help of “Reba,” a sorrel mare who’s dam is a full sister to Williams’ Horse of the Year “Baybe Bullet,” and sired by their own stud Smoke N Sunrise.

Williams said this was the biggest thing the mare had won so farβ€”and her solid demeanor on a longer score bodes well for the summer run should Baybe need a break.
