More Details on the WCRA’s $400,000 Stampede At The E Announced

The 2024 WCRA season will kick off with the Stampede at the E in Guthrie, Oklahoma, January 4-7, the first time in three years.

The WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) recently announced that the 2024 Triple Crown of Rodeo (TCR) series will begin by reintroducing the WCRA Stampede at The E.

The Triple Crown of Rodeo (TCR) event will be hosted at the legendary Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, January 4-7, 2024.

What is the Triple Crown of Rodeo?

The Triple Crown of Rodeo, presented by Lazy E Ranch and Arena, is a series of annual major rodeo events which includes a bonus that will pay $1 million to any one athlete or collection of athletes who win first place in three consecutive WCRA Major Rodeos. WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo events are broadcast on CBS network television.

The 2024 season kick-off event will mark the first time the WCRA TCR series has stopped in Guthrie in over three years. The total event payout will be $400,000, with the payout per discipline as follows:

  • Roughstock Payout: $42,700 per discipline
  • Timed Event payout: $45,200 per discipline

How to compete at the Stampede At The E:

WCRA will hold timed event qualifying rounds on January 4, 2024, with a dedicated $15,000 ($2500 per discipline) added money. All steer wrestlers and roping disciplines will compete in two rounds of competition during the qualifying rounds, while barrel racers will have one round of competition with an optional buy-back round. All formats and progression details can be found HERE.

The top 36 timed event athletes on the WCRA leaderboard will be eligible to enter the qualifying rounds ($250 entry fee- 70% jackpot payback based), while rough stock disciplines will feature ten athletes in the progressive rounds (January 5-8).

All timed event athletes ranked 1-6 athletes on the leaderboard will be seeded directly into the progressive round with no entry fees and bypass the qualifying rounds.
