NFBR Reflection: Shelby Boisjoli and Cheyanne McCartney Talk About Their Wins

The Breakaway Breakdown reflects on the 2023 NFBR with World Champion Shelby Boisjoli and NFBR average champion Cheyanne McCartney.

As 2023 comes to a close, there’s no better way to reflect on the rodeo season than by looking back on the 2023 NFBR.

Shelby Boisjoli entered the 2021 NFBR No. 1 in the world but just couldn’t clinch the world title. She finally got redemption, though, this year, being crowned the 2023 Breakaway Roping World Champion after 10 rounds in Las Vegas.

Three-time NFBR qualifier Cheyanne McCartney was hunting for an average title, and that’s exactly what she accomplished. McCartney roped nine of 10 calves in 32.2 seconds and took home a total of $24,581 in Las Vegas to win the 2023 NFBR average title.

Boisjoli and McCartney reflect on their wins in this episode of the Breakaway Breakdown.
