Put power and accuracy behind your swing by visualizing it as a windmill.

Put more power, speed and accuracy into your breakaway swing by using Lari Dee Guy’s visualization technique.

By imagining your rope as a four-bladed propeller, you’ll generate power while maintaining precision in your throws.

“I want the tip of my rope to swing in four directions, almost like a windmill, fan or propellor. I think of my arm and my hand as the motor and the tip of the rope traveling as the four blades in four directions.”

“So the first direction is when I pick the rope up and turn it over. That’s blade one and it is aimed at the target.”

“Then I pull it back and the tip of the rope—blade two—will be in position over my left shoulder”

→ Blade Three

“My shoulder rolls back, my hand will get behind and my elbow will come a little forward and that’ll be blade three.

“And then I turn it and blade four will be over my right shoulder. And once the rope tip gets from three to four, I bring the delivery to the target.”

A few pointers:

  • “The momentum of the swing is the power. You have to have momentum on your swing to have the power. So many people try to swing real hard and muscle through it, and they get their shoulder real tight. I feel the swing is a very relaxed shoulder swing. Once your shoulder is relaxed, that gives you the ability to turn your hand, your forearm, your shoulder and your elbow all as one and keeps a real smooth swing with momentum on it to carry it to the target.”
  • “The tip is what travels. My hand stays in a small area right here by my eye. The tip goes all the way around as the blades.”
