The 2023 National Finals Breakaway Roping athletes battled their way to the Top 15 with these ropes in hand.

When it comes to winning a check, these are the top rope choices of the breakaway ropers who are NFBR-bound in 2023.

Out of the Top 15’s picks, there are four rope brands represented and seven makes—predominantly calf and breakaway ropes, plus one head rope.

The 2023 Top 15 best breakaway ropes:

No. 15, Erin Johnson

Erin Johnson ropes with a 10.0 Striker from Rattler Rope.

No. 14, Josie Conner

Josie Conner ropes with 9.5 polys from Dub Grant and King Ropes. She uses the gold ropes from Dub Grant and Tan ropes from Kings.

No. 13, Rickie Engesser

Rickie Engesser ropes with a 9.5 Viper from Rattler Rope.

No. 12, Kendal Pierson

Kendal Pierson ropes with a 10.25 Viper from Rattler Rope.

No. 11, Danielle Lowman

Like Johnson, Danielle Lowman ropes with a 10.0 Striker from Rattler Rope.

No. 10, Jackie Crawford

Jackie Crawford ropes with a 50 or 60 Spitfire, or a 10.0 Viper from Rattler Rope.

No. 9, Cheyanne Guillory

Cheyanne Guillory prefers Kings poly ropes.
