Bailey Bates is riding high after a dominant performance at the 2025 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo—and she’s sharing every detail on the latest episode of The Breakdown Podcast.

Bates delivered three lightning-fast 1.9-second runs in San Angelo, roping her way to a $10,217 payday and a critical boost in the ProRodeo world standings. After narrowly missing out on big checks at Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio—including a heartbreak one-dollar miss at San Antonio—this win was a turning point.

“It was a sigh of relief,” Bates said. “I knew San Angelo could bump me in the standings—or just be another rodeo. So I told myself, ‘Capitalize on it.’”

In this candid episode, Bates breaks down each of her runs, explains how she stayed mentally sharp under pressure, and gives credit where it’s due—to her standout horse, Rocket. She also opens up about navigating the grind of the Texas Swing and learning how to balance competition and practice on the road.

From trusting her start to reading calves like a pro, Bates’ performance at San Angelo is a lesson in timing, tenacity, and talent. Now sitting in a promising spot for the season, she’s not slowing down.

Don’t miss this episode of The Breakdown, where Bailey Bates reflects on her biggest win yet, shares how she’s developing her horsepower, and previews what’s next in her 2025 run.
