It’s all happened down the road from The Calgary Stampede at the Nutrien Western Event Center, where the team roping competition was held, too.

Taylor Munsell came away with the victory, roping in 3.6, 2.9, and 4.3-seconds to advance to the sudden death round alongside Jackie Crawford, Jordi Edens and Taylor Hanchey. There, Munsell stopped the clock in 1.7 seconds, good for a $12,500 payday.

How did they qualify for the Calgary Stampede breakaway?

The Calgary Stampede invited 30 breakaway contestants. The top five contestants from the 2022 CPRA final standings; the top 15 contestants from the 2022 WPRA Pro Rodeo Breakaway World Standings; top six contestants from the WPRA Current Year ProRodeo Breakaway World Standings as of May 9, 2023, not already qualified (drop-down until filled) and the top four from the 2023 Calgary Stampede Breakaway Roping Qualifier not already qualified (drop down until filled).
