2024 Cheyenne Frontier Days Belongs to Shelby Boisjoli-Meged: Full Results

The 2024 Cheyenne Frontier Days breakaway roping started off with a muddy slack on Tuesday, July 16, and 200 women were taken down to 12 for the short go at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

In the end, Shelby Boisjoli-Meged emerged victorious on 2024 Horse of the Year “Onna,” roping in 3.7 seconds to wrap up more than $12K in the short go alone.

Cheyenne Frontier Days Breakaway Format

Slack, 7/16

A maximum of 200 breakaway ropers will compete in slack Tuesday morning, July 16, in two sets of 100. The top 30 runs in each set will make it back for the performances.

Wildcard Round, 7/17

A Wildcard round will be held Wednesday, July 17, for the ladies who didn’t make the top 60 cutoff. The top 12 from the Wildcard will compete in the Quarterfinals July 20-25.

Quarter Finals, 7/20–25

There are six quarterfinal performances, with 12 ladies per performance. The top four each day will be paid, and advance to the Semi-Finals.

Semi-Finals 7/26–27

There are two Semi-Final performances, with 12 ladies per performance. The top six each day will advance to the finals on Sunday, July 28.

Finals, 7/28

Contestants advancing to the Finals from the Semi-Finals will compete slowest to fastest. 12 ladies will rope with a clean slate, the fastest time becoming the Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion.
