The Bob Feist Invitational—know industry wide as the BFI—is a high-powered jackpot that’s earned the respect of competitors from all levels.

Whereas most winter breakaway rodeos are short scores that require pinpoint precision, the BFI’s setup inside the Lazy E Arena requires guts to run a calf down on a longer score and slam on the brakes to stay in the money. 2023 champion Sarah Angelone roped in 3.05, 3.04 and 3.64 seconds to get the win.

How to watch BFI Breakaway

The BFI breakaway roping takes place Wednesday, April 3, on the BFI’s “All-girl” day. The day kicks off with team roping at 9 a.m., and the breakaway starts at 1 p.m. CT.

2024 BFI Breakaway payout

$62,000 was paid out in the BFI Charlie 1 Horse All-Girl Breakaway in 2023, with Champion Sarah Angelone taking home more than $14,000. Will 2024’s payout top the last year? Only time (and entries) will tell.
