Josie Conner led the charge throughout late August in the ProRodeo breakaway roping results, wrapping up $15,195 at three rodeos; the Horse Haven Roundup in Kennewick, Washington, the Kitsap Stampede in Bremerton, Washington, and the Gem State Stampede in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
With five weeks left in the regular ProRodeo season, Conner is undoubtedly looking to climb closer to No. 1 and No. 2 Shelby Boisjoli-Meged and Taylor Munsell, who are currently projected to rest around $173K and $170K. With her weekend earnings, Conner is at approximately $142,201.
While Conner led the weekend earners, Cheyanne McCartney made moves, too, earned more than $8K and putting herself in the No. 4 spot behind Conner in the standings with $114,611 won.
Other notable earners include Macy Young, who is trying to battle off her No. 15 bubble position with $5,580 won over the weekend, and Erin Johnson who is now within $500 of Young in the No. 16 position.

The big breakaway picture
There is a rift forming between the top 16 ropers and the rest of the field—with the distance between No. 16 Johnson and No. 17 Rickie Fanning now standing at $11,800.
Looking down the list, there was no earning action happening from last weeks’ No. 21 Haiden Thompson to No. 26 Brooke Ladner—the only exception being with No. 23 TiAda Gray with a $1,096 weekend.
Farther out, but still fighting
Formerly No. 27 and No. 28 Kendal Pierson and Jordi Edens-Mitchell are still fighting hard, bringing in $8,039 and $5,165, respectively. The earnings should see them move up a place or two each in the standings, and perhaps more importantly, grows their momentum as they head into the final rodeo stretch.
Remember, Pierson has a ticket to Puyallup, while Mitchell barely missed out.
