Shelby Meged had an exceptional 2023 season, making her mark at the National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR) by placing in six rounds, including two wins, and setting a new NFBR earnings record of $33,157 over two days. Her total earnings for the year reached $197,706, solidifying her status as a top competitor. Currently ranked fourth in the world standings with $49,973 in earnings, Shelby is poised for a successful summer rodeo circuit.
Haven Meged, World Champion Tie Down roper, clinched his second NFR Average title at the 2023 National Finals Rodeo with an astounding 77.4 seconds on 10 head. His remarkable performance in Las Vegas earned him $216,195, highlighted by placing in eight rounds, including a record-breaking 6.4-second run in Round 7. With over a million dollars in career earnings and five NFR qualifications, Haven is a seasoned champion who has also claimed the NFR average title twice. He is also a Canadian Tie Down Champion.
The Megeds, who married in May 2023, call Stephenville, Texas home where they focus on breeding and training calf and breakaway horses between their rigorous competition schedule.
