Who’s in Sioux Falls? Plus Abilene, Albuquerque, Pendleton Weekend Results

The Playoff Series standings have been elusive, and the point system is a little more complicated than the money that goes into the World Standings. So, which breakaway ropers are in a good spot to advance to Sioux Falls?

The end of the ProRodeo season is upon the breakaway ropers, and the last of the WPRA Playoff Series Tour rodeos have wrapped up, leaving the big question—who’s in at Sioux Falls?

The Pendleton Round-Up, West Texas Fair & Rodeo and New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo were the final three puzzle pieces in the year-long Playoff Series battle that saw ropers compete for points instead of money.

But why does it matter? In 2023, The Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls paid more than $100,000 to breakaway ropers on the final weekend of the ProRodeo regular season. The 2023 champion, Shelby Boisjoli-Meged, got a $25,000 earnings boost and went on win the World Championship. And the 2024 rendition is set to pay even more—$40,000 to the average champion.

In short, Sioux Falls’ payouts can be the difference in someone making the NFBR or a roper inside the top 10 having a shot at the World Championship.

Time to dig into who’s already in Sioux Falls and who’s put themselves in a good position to make the top eight cutoff.

Puyallup qualifiers for Sioux Falls

The top four finishers at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup earned a spot in Sioux Falls, causing the rest of the Playoff Series standings (below) to roll down and open up more opportunities for other ropers.
