The American Rodeo

Though established in 2014, The American Rodeo first added breakaway to its lineup in 2019, and it has since become a rodeo juggernaut, shaping the landscape of competitive Western sports as one of the most lucrative ventures for breakaway ropers and their fellow rodeo athletes.

Since its inception, The American has paid out millions of dollars to its cowboy and cowgirl victors. This impressive financial commitment not only serves to support the ropers, barrel racers and roughstock competitors going down the road, it also underscores the rodeo’s commitment to elevating the sport by rewarding excellence, solidifying The American’s place as a premier event in the rodeo calendar.
