The 2025 National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR) has officially been rescheduled and will now take place December 22–23, 2025, bringing the Top 15 breakaway ropers in the world together to compete for a $300,000 purse.

Here’s everything fans and competitors need to know, including the full schedule, payout breakdown, and how to watch.

When Is the 2025 NFBR?

The NFBR will be held over two performances on Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23, with all 10 go-rounds split evenly across the two nights.

NFBR Schedule

Monday, December 22

  • 6:00 p.m. — Doors open
  • 7:00 p.m. — Performance (Rounds 1–5)

Tuesday, December 23

  • 4:00 p.m. — Group photo
  • 4:30–5:30 p.m. — Autograph session (in front of Cowtown Coliseum)
  • 6:00 p.m. — Doors open
  • 7:00 p.m. — Performance (Rounds 6–10)

NFBR Payout Breakdown

The total payout for the 2025 NFBR is $300,000, which includes guaranteed money for each qualifier and competition prize money paid out across go-rounds and the Average.

Guaranteed Prize Money

  • $22,500 total guaranteed
  • Each contestant receives a $1,500 stipend

Competition Prize Money

  • $277,500 total competition purse

Go-Round Payouts (Each of 10 Rounds)

Each go-round pays $21,367.50 total, distributed as follows:

  • 1st: $6,196.58
  • 2nd: $5,128.20
  • 3rd: $4,059.83
  • 4th: $2,991.45
  • 5th: $1,923.08
  • 6th: $1,068.38

The NFBR Average pays out $63,825 total to the Top 8 based on cumulative time across all 10 rounds.

Who Competes at the NFBR?

The Top 15 breakaway ropers in the WPRA world standings qualify for the National Finals Breakaway Roping. The event serves as the season-ending championship, where go-round wins and Average results determine final standings.
