Cutter Enlow’s enjoying his second year of Hooey JR Patriot success in Fort Worth, this time picking up a 12 and under Semifinals breakaway roping victory en route to Saturday’s finals.
“I was first out in the first round,” Enlow said. “I just wanted to score sharp and rope sharp.”
@breakawayropingjournal Cutter Enlow and 20-year-old roping pony “Kiki” topped the Hooey Jr. Patriot 12-and-Under Breakaway Semifinals this morning with times of 2.3 and 2.24, earning $4,500 and a trip to the 12 & 15 Short Go on Saturday. Full results and story to come at the link in our bio. 🔗

The 12-year-old from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, was solid in Round 1, then picked up a $2,000 second-place finish for his 2.24-second run in Round 2. That run helped him complete the Semifinals with a 4.54 seconds on two runs and earn the $2,500 aggregate win.
Enlow’s equine partner was a crowd favorite in Fort Worth—the 20-year-old pony, “Kiki.” A former ProRodeo mount beneath Anthony Craig, Kiki’s now a fixture at youth ropings with Enlow.
“We’re both small and powerful, I guess,” Enlow said. “She helps me get warmed up, and she gets moving and excited. But she’s ready when she backs in the box. Then she gets across the line really fast, and stops hard. She’s great.”
The young cowboy noted that he’s been staying focused on perfecting his scoring all week long at The Patriot Event, and locking in on the neck early on. He’s finding higher percentage shots and focusing on the larger payouts on the weekend.
The duo was also competitive in the 12U tie-down roping in Fort Worth and are looking for two chances at the $50,000 bonus sidepot.
