A week of heart-pounding breakaway action at the Cowtown Coliseum is set to conclude at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, May 18, with three breakaway ropers vying for the 2024 WRWC Breakaway Championship purse.
Taking place in conjunction with the PBR World Finals, the field of more than 50 “Pro” and “Challenger” breakaway ropers has been whittled down to the best of the best. The breakaway setup at AT&T is said to be the same as the Cowtown Coliseum; a four-under barrier. The ladies got to pick their calves, too, making for an extra-fun

Amy Ohrt
Topping the Showdown Round on Thursday, 18-year-old Amy Ohrt is demanding the attention of ropers with more wins under their belt.
She advanced through the go-rounds and semifinals with an aggregate of 8.09 seconds on three head—all astride “Frothy Wildcard,” who traces back to Hollywood Dun It on top and Colonel Freckles on the bottom.
When the heat was on in the Showdown Round, she fired off the fastest run of the day, stopping the clock in 2.05-seconds.
“I am so excited to be going to into the AT&T, and no matter the outcome it was my goal to get there,” Ohrt said.
Orht says her plan is to see her start and make the most of her calf—which she says is “ropeable, I just need to do my job.”
Jordan Jo Hollabaugh
Hollabaugh skated through the week of WRWC competition with consistency on her side. She put together an aggregate of 8.76 on three head, and punched the accelerator when it counted, roping in 2.36 seconds.
She did it all on grade mare “Cookie,” who will be her choice for roping at AT&T, too.
Hollabaugh said she’s “Excited” for the opportunity to rope at AT&T and will be “Showing up to do the best I can.”
Martha Angelone
Just one day after securing her No. 3 and No. 4 WRWC World Championships, Angelone punched her AT&T ticket for a chance at another $60,000 in winnings.
Angelone posted a 2.08-second run to advance to the final three riding “Jesse James.” Registered as “Gunna Shock Ya,” Jesse James pulled most of the weight on Angelone’s way to her first WPRA World Championship in 2022.
“I’m pumped,” Angelone said. “I love moments where we get to rope for this kind of money. my game plan is to make the best, fastest run I can and let the chips fall where they fall.”
Angelone picked a calf that’s brought fellow ropers to the pay window throughout the week.
“It was my calf early in the week, then Taylor Munsell’s, then Sarah [Angelone’s] today,” Angelone said.
