The 2026 Cinch Playoff Series breakaway field for Puyallup, Washington, is set after Monday’s points cutoff, and Josie Conner goes in as the No. 1 seed.
WPRA’s Aug. 24 standings file, covering every rodeo through Monday, has the Iowa, Louisiana, roper at 952.01 points—174.88 clear of Danielle Lowman, who moved past Cheyanne McCartney into second in the final week before books closed. Conner’s margin over second is larger than the entire spread from second down to 12th, as the playoff math laid out last week.
The top 23 on points advance to Puyallup, Sept. 10-13, along with an NFR Open representative. The top four out of Puyallup then move on to the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sept. 25-27, no matter where they sit in season points.

Kamie Jo Crouse is the first one out, 22.13 points short of Boisjoli-Meged, with Shalee Oftedahl another 0.86 back at No. 25. The biggest name missing is Jenna Dallyn—No. 12 in the official world standings at $82,394.44, but No. 49 in Playoff Series points at 179.66.
A Word From the Points Leader
Conner has led the series all summer while sitting sixth in BRJ’s projected world standings at $108,455.96. The schedule that built the lead was deliberate.
“I definitely try to prioritize the tour rodeos. I get to as many playoff rodeos as possible,” Conner said. “Puyallup and Sioux Falls play huge roles in the season in terms of the standings, and they are the best 60 rodeos. So really, you want to get to those anyway.”
“Sometimes if there’s a tour rodeo that’s a little bit out of the way and there’s a couple rodeos close together, most of the time I try to go to the tour rodeo,” she said, “just because it’s probably the best rodeo of the week.”
She’ll go without Dutch. Her two-time Horse of the Year went home again after another try at bringing him back, which leaves Im Countin Checques, “Checkers”—the mare she bought from Montana Brown a week before the summer run—to get the call in Washington.
“I’m pretty much 99% sure that I’m riding her no matter what,” Conner said. “Unless she’s not sound or something, Checkers will be there.”
Conner knows what the last weekend of September can do. She was second in the 2025 Governor’s Cup finals at 2.5 for $24,000—more than she won at the NFBR that December—and it moved her to No. 2 in the world with a shot at a gold buckle.
“The year’s not over until it’s over on September 30th,” she said. “All you can hope for is a chance. Sioux Falls, being the last weekend and paying so much money, is so huge.”
“Last year I won more at Sioux Falls than I did at the breakaway finals. I know the payout hasn’t been announced yet, so we’re not sure what that’s quite looking like, but that might be the same situation again.”
The next cutoff falls Sept. 21, the Monday after Mandan, North Dakota, and Pendleton, Oregon, and it sets the eight ropers who go straight to Sioux Falls on season points. Bradi Good holds the last of those spots at 730.88, 35.28 up on Amy Ohrt.
