Fifteen of breakaway roping’s veterans and young guns are headed to Globe Life Field April 11 for The American Contender Finals, where five will advance to the Saturday performance for a shot at the $1 million purse.

Sadie Grant
Region: West
Fast Fact: 17-year-old Sadie Grant from Santa Maria, California, took the top spot in the West Region Finals with a 2.7-second run astride 9-year-old mare her sister Haliegh trained.
Harley Pryor
Region: West
Fast Fact: Harley Pryor has been terrorizing the open breakaway ropers for the last few years, winning everywhere from amateur rodeos and The Patriot to WCRA events. Although she’s only 16 years old, Pryor is a name that commands attention in the breakaway pen.
Lari Dee Guy
Region: West
Fast Fact: Lari Dee Guy is a veteran among young blood in the American Contender field, having campaigned for breakaway’s addition to ProRodeos and beyond for decades. Now, she’s reaping the rewards of her hard work at events including The American Rodeo, which added breakaway in 2019.
Kaydin Finan
Region: West
Fast Fact: ProRodeo cowgirl Kaydin Finan collected checks including a $3,983 payday at the Ellensburg Rodeo in Washington and $3,768 in Bozeman, Montana. Finan competed in the inaugural Kimes Million Dollar Breakaway and qualified for the American Contender Finals with a 2.95-second run in Las Vegas.

Bailey Girvin
Region: West
Fast Fact: Bailey Girvin is a Resistol Rookie of the Year contender in ProRodeo this year, and still taking advantage of events including The Patriot where she rounded up $5,620 in the breakaway roping.
Kelsie Reininger
Region: East
Fast Fact: At only 15 years old, Kelsie Reininger is one of the youngest in The American field. But youngest isn’t synonymous with less experienced, because the Reininger twins have been making headlines since they burst onto the breakaway scene.
Hali Williams
Region: East
Fast Fact: ProRodeo’s sweetheart Hali Williams is a fierce competitor with an ever-growing string of capable horses. In 2024, Williams finished No. 8 in the WPRA World Standings, meaning she missed the top five cutoff to be invited. Undeterred, Williams roped her was through the Eastern tournament to claim her contender position.
Lydia Townson
Region: East
Fast Fact: Stephenville, Texas, mom of two Lydia Townson has dabbled in ProRodeo breakaway, but stays busy producing ropings in the Texarkana area and spinning steers for her husband. Now, Townson gets her moment in the spotlight at The American after punching her ticket at the Eastern Region with a 2.45-second time.
Corlee Massey
Region: East
Fast Fact: At 14 years old, Massey’s youth is only rivaled by 10-year-old barrel racer Dusky Lynn Hall, who’s also in the running for $1 million. In addition to breakaway excellence, Massey also competes in basketball where she made the varsity team as a freshman in 2024.
Ashley Henderson
Region: East
Fast Fact: University of West Alabama’s Ashley Henderson finished No. 3 at the CNFR in 2024. In 2025, the Floridian started her year off right by snagging the last position in the Eastern finals with a 2.65-second run.
Kaydence Tindall
Region: Central
Fast Fact: Kaydence Tindall posted the fastest short go time of all three regions with a 2.07-second run on dun mare “Dolly.”
Addison Kinser
Region: Central
Fast Fact: Hailing from the rural town of Capitan, New Mexico, 18-year-old Addison Kinser is no stranger to the spotlight, finishing No. 3 in the breakaway at the NHSFR in 2024. But she told a local New Mexico paper that Globe Life Field will be her biggest stage ever.
Brooke Bruner
Region: Central
Fast Fact: Resistol Rookie of the Year leader Brooke Bruner has been busy entering—and winning checks—at ProRodeos throughout the 2024 season. Fortunately, she had time to stop by The American Central Region Tournament, too, posting a 2.54-second run for a $1 million opportunity.
Taylor Munsell
Region: Central
Fast Fact: Taylor Munsell is coming off a huge ProRodeo win at 2025 RodeoHouston, worth $65,000. But as a contender at The American Rodeo, she’s eligible for the $1 million purse.
Hadley Thompson
Region: Central
Fast Fact: Younger sister of 2024 Resistol Rookie of the Year candidate at 2024 WPRA All Around World Champion Haiden Thompson, Hadley Thompson will have her turn in the spotlight at The American Contender Finals in the breakaway roping—which is just one of the events she competes in. At The Patriot, she advanced to the 19-and-Under Goat Tying Finals.
American Rodeo Breakaway Format
The top 15 contenders will compete in the Contender Tournament Finals on Friday, April 11, where the top five fastest times will advance to Saturday.
On Saturday the five $1 million eligible contenders will duke it out with the five invitees in a round of 10, which will be whittled to a round of four. From there, The American Rodeo Champion will be determined with the fastest time.
